Mathews Wins $6.5 Million in Florida Grants for Agri-Source Fuels

grant letterAgri-Source Fuels, LLC, is the latest recipient of a Florida Farm to Fuel and Renewable Energy Technology grant, earning a second grant for $2.5 million in 2009, following a $4 million grant in 2008. Both grants were prepared on behalf of Agri-Source by MW Biodiesel Consulting President Peggy Mathews.

The $2.5 grant will be used to expand capacity of Agri-Source's Dade City, FL, plant to 60 million gallons per year.

Agri-Source received a letter officially awarding the $2.5 grant on April 14, 2009, from Florida Agriculture Secretary Charles Bronson.

MW Biodiesel Completes Assessment of Available State & Federal Programs for Renewable Fuels

On behalf of client Florida Fuel Solutions (FFS), MW Bio conducted a comprehensive review of all available State and Federal programs for renewable fuels. The project was completed early June, 2009.

MW Bio identified 12 state and Federal programs, including several new initiatives related to Federal "stimulus" programs. MW Bio also reviewed four other areas of interest: Federal production incentives; economic development incentives; stimulus-enhanced cost segregation; and RIN monetization and management.

MW Biodiesel Launches Service to Monetize RINs

International Exchange Services (IES) and MW Biodiesel Consulting (MW Bio) have signed an agreement to provide MW Bio clients access to International Exchange Services' market-leading Renewable Information Number Management Services program. In return, IES clients gain access to MW Bio's consulting services.

The Renewable Information Number (RIN) program is a critically important, but complicated, financial incentive for renewable fuels producers. It is a forerunner of a 'cap and trade' system, and is also a 'hedge' against market price swings, as the value of a RIN increases when the cost difference increases between producing petroleum-based fuels and renewable fuels.

The IES program generates, validates, tracks, then monetizes and trades RINS, which are ultimately purchased by petroleum refiners to satisfy Federal "renewable fuels portfolio" mandates.

MW Biodiesel Partnership Turns Glycerin Into Electricity

This is an actual photo of a "blue flame" fueled by glycerin. This exothermic (heat-producing) process is used to power high efficiency micro turbines to generate electricity, creating renewable energy and a new income stream for biodiesel producers.

MW Biodiesel Consulting (MW Bio) clients now have direct access to a patented process that uses a plasma reactor to transform waste glycerin into synthetic gas (syngas), which can generate renewable electricity to sell back to the energy grid.

MW Bio is partnering with Florida Syngas (FS) to install reactors using this patented process at client sites nationside. Through this partnership, MW Bio clients are in a highly advantageous position to access renewable energy funding recently announced by the USDA.

The plasma reactors can produce energy from any carbonaceous fuel. The resulting fuel qualifies for numerous renewable energy tax credits and other incentives.

MW Biodiesel Consulting recently participated in an FS workshop where key production issues, including financing and integration of the FS product into biodiesel plant operating systems, were addressed.

MW Biodiesel Applies Stimulus Act to Cut Client Taxes

MW Grant Recipient
Major corporate assets like these storage tanks at a Florida biodiesel plant are a prime target for "cost segregation" reviews.

MW Biodiesel Consulting (MW Bio) has announced a strategic partnership with The RHS Group (RHS) to help clients take advantage of changes in the Federal tax code contained in the 2009 "Stimulus Act."

These changes, which are unknown to most businesses, can dramatically reduce taxes, sometimes even resulting in refunds of previously paid taxes.

The primary tool is an accounting principle called "cost segregation," which is used to classify depreciating assets in their most favorable class. The "Stimulus Act".

There is no fee. A small (2-2.5%) commission is collected on actual savings. RHS has reduced client taxes by more than $2 billion over the past five years.

MW Biodiesel Forms Financial Partnership

MW Bio clients can access private capital funding through The Schreier Group, a privately held California-based financial advisor specializing in equity, bridge and loan financing for alternative energy projects.

The emphasis is on projects with capital needs of less than $25 million, with most projects in the $3-5 million range.

In addition to private funding, MW Bio can assist clients with public-private partnership equity funding, including the Florida Clean Opportunity Fund.
